The movie "Cloverfield" came out in 2008 and it was an enjoyable, found-footage film, with a big monster and maybe the apocalypse. I liked it.
Then 8 years later they had a movie on it's way out called "Valencia" until BOOM, they changed it to "10 Cloverfield Lane" only a few months before it was released. I liked this one even better. More of a thriller/drama with some hints of horror in there. John Goodman was/is awesome. This was a loosely connected sequel (no-spoilers here).
And now the 2017 sci-fi movie "God Particle" is apparently going to be in the Cloverfield Universe via The Wrap. I say, Yes to this. I loved shared universes. More movies should share universes.
2 of my favorite theories right now...
The Walking Dead shares a universe with Breaking Bad. (Merle did have blue meth)
Who Framed Roger Rabbitt shares a universe with Space Jam. (Cause why not?).
